Children In Crisis
Children in Crisis, Inc. is local non-profit organization that works to provide foster homes for children with the goal of keeping siblings together. They serve Okaloosa, Walton, Escambia, and Santa Rosa counties in Northwest Florida and provide emergency shelter for children removed from an unsafe environment on short notice.
Florida Baptist Children’s Homes
This local, faith-based non-profit organization helps vulnerable children and struggling families. They provide safe homes and necessities to children in need. Florida Baptist Children’s Homes supports the safety for children first, and then when possible, reunification of families. Overall, their mission is to transform lives for the better.
Embrace Florida Kids
This faith-based agency is passionately focused on providing homes, healing and hope to vulnerable children and their families through their foster care program, residential group home and family preservation services.
National Youth Advocate Program
This national program believes that youth deserve to be surrounded by positive role models. They work with delinquent youth referred to the state by county juvenile court judges for placement in family settings in their community to give them a better chance at life success.
Faith Network
Having a strong support system helps foster families thrive. In Northwest Florida, FamiliesFirst network works with faith-based organizations to provide support for local foster families. Our faith community rallies behind foster parents by providing services such as lawn care, meal preparation, family hair care and other needs. Many have set an annual, realistic goal of trying to recruit at least one foster parent/family to wrap around and support as part of their ministries.
We also collaborate with CarePortal to assist children and families involved with the child welfare system at any level. This faith-driven, web-based resource asks that local churches be the entry point for facilitating requests to target more immediate needs for children newly in care. Community Champions are individuals and can participate once connected to a participating faith-based organization. Local churches of all denominations encourage you to join them in learning what our families need.

Behavioral health care
FamiliesFirst Network is an affiliate of LifeView Group. As a comprehensive human services organization, we can bridge gaps unlike any other agency. Substance misuse and mental health issues can potentially overlap into child abuse, abandonment and neglect. That’s where our child welfare teams at FamiliesFirst Network can step in to help ensure the safety of children while our Lakeview Center behavioral health care teams work with parents to receive recovery services.
FamiliesFirst Network also serves foster children with special needs, which are addressed by our specialized behavioral health care teams.
Lakeview Center’s behavioral health services coupled with FamiliesFirst Network’s child welfare support are able to lean on each other as we develop innovative solutions in serving Gulf Coast families.
