Nemours Children’s Specialty Care transforms FamiliesFirst Network visitation space

Thanks to Nemours Children’s Specialty Care, parents and children utilizing the Escambia County FamiliesFirst Network service center will now enjoy a newly decorated and welcoming visitation space, plus much-needed amenities supporting foster families.

When a child is removed from their biological parent’s home, reunification is the primary goal whenever possible. Visitation plays a crucial role in that process, providing structured time for families to connect and build relationships. With this newly enhanced, home-like environment, FamiliesFirst Network aims to make these moments more meaningful and comforting for the children and families they serve. A warm and inviting space helps establish routines and strengthen bonds that can continue after families are reunited.

Nemours also donated clothing items and organized an onsite resource center to aid FamiliesFirst Network case managers and foster parents who take in children in need – typically with very little notice. Having these essentials readily available help support foster parents and eases the experience for kids coming into care.

FamiliesFirst Network extends its deepest gratitude to Nemours Children’s Specialty Care for selecting FamiliesFirst Network as part of the Nemours Cares Week initiative. Nemours Cares Week offers associates various volunteer opportunities to support families in their communities, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to child and family well-being.
